NEVILLE MACDADDY ANDERSON
NEVILLE "MACDADDY" ANDERSON, Creator of The Macbone & veteran trombonist, was born in London of Jamaican parents and educated in the USA.
He has been playing the trombone from the age of eight and has been able to reach a number of outstanding achievements in music. Alongside the legendary
JERRY JOHNSON, they have been featured in countless reggae recordings under the “Bullwackies” label as well as providing horn tracks for other well-known
reggae artists such as SUGAR MINOTT, JERRY HARRIS, SISTER CAROL, The Love Joys, and Milton Henry. They also co-wrote "Abashanti Rock" which rose to
number 2 in the reggae charts in 1980. Neville had the privilege of performing with several reggae legends such as ROLAND ALPHONSO, HORACE ANDY,
LESTER STERLING, SUGAR MINOTT, and CLARK GAYTON. Growing up in the USA afforded Neville the opportunity to be exposed to Rhythm & Blues at its infancy
(when it was still being performed live) and he was able to view the performances of great entertainers and their bands...the likes of James Brown,
Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Cameo, Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang (before JT), Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, and D’Angelo.
